"Hit The Air"- November 2, 1996
WRITTEN BY: Earl Kress and Mark Seidenberg
HERO OF THE DAY: Sport!
WEAPON OF CHOICE: Parvo's shredding tank
BASIC PLOT SUMMARY (From Kids' WB at AOL):

The Rovers help protect a fellow canine Spitz, "Sport," from a ruthless gang whose boss has kidnapped his master.  As the only witness to the crime, Sport is Transdogmafied into a Road Rover, enabling him to testify at the gangster boss' upcoming trial.  It turns out that Sport is being double-crossed as part of a clever ambush against the Rovers designed by General Parvo at his deadly game.

MORE PLOTLINE: Sport's owner, Olivia Peru, is kidnapped by Donovan Bell, a co-worker of Parvo's...he is put on trial for Peru's disappearance in Miami, he        appears to be o.k. because the prosecution has no case, the only witness was Sport...Sport leads the Rovers to Parvo by a homing device and thinks he and his owner will leave scot free but of course this doesn't happen...Parvo takes the two but the Rovers get them back...Sport testifies at the trial...Bell goes to jail

WHAT WE LEARNED FROM THIS EPISODE:
-That other dogs, besides our 5, can be transdogmafied into Road Rovers
-That reading the paper is always a good idea
-That you better keep your promises (that means you Blister!  Off to obedience school for you fella!)
-That Exile "loves being Road Rover!"  Ok, maybe we knew that one.
-That Gator World in Orlando is a great place, if you want to wrestle some alligators

FUNNIEST LINE: Blitz's obedience school promise and then backing out of was the funniest part to me.  When the plane is about to crash down, Blitz says "If you let me survive this, I'll go to obedience school for a solid year."  Then, once the plane hits water and turns into the boat, Blitz tries to back his way out of it and go "once a month," but the big guy upstairs isn't too happy about this, so he turns the lights out in the boat.  Blitz says "Sheesh, what a grump."

KRANKOR'S FAN RATING: 7.7 out of 10 (t9th out of 13)

MY TAKE: A funny, good episode.  If your a big animation stickler you're not gonna like this one, though.  A lot of goof-ups.  Sport was an o.k. character, but he could be a little annoying.  I think about 50% fans loved him and 50% hated him.  Ah well, it's hit or miss.
