Story #20-Santa Claws!

Before we jump into the present, lets look at what happened to get us up to this time. After seeing the Master safe, the fearsome foursome returned to the present. They made up an excuse that they didn't know that the Master wasn't kidnapped to explain their disappearence. The next week and a half went pretty simply, mostly just time to relax and time to get into the holiday spirit. We now rejoin the present:

Note: I have decided to go back to TV show form for this story. I will inform you of the story type before each one.

After seeing the title of this show, we see a floor covered with tile. Then, instantly, footsteps can be heard marching towards the TV. Then, we look up, and see many of the Rovers playing basketball. We then hear the Master say, "And here come the Hounds!" We then see Cody with the basketball, guarded by Rango. We then see the scoreboard, and we see that it reads "Wolves 57-Hounds 55," and only "0:08 seconds left." Cody then bounce passes to a Space Rover friend, Mars. Mars is quickly checked by Jeff. Then, suddenly Shag comes up and sets a pick for Mars, and so Mars drives to the left. Then, Colleen backs off Star, who she is guarding, to stop Mars from scoring. Mars then sees the open Star, and passes to her. "Uh oh," Star says, nervously, staring at the ball. "Shoot, Star!" Blitz says, since he is on her team. "Uh, uh," Star says, until Jeff runs up and knocks the ball right out of her hands. There is then a mad scramble for the ball, as the ten dive for it, and land in a large pile. "Ow, foul, foul, foul!!" Mars shouts in desperation, though he isn't being fouled. Then, the clock expires, and the Master says, "Game! The Wolves, lead by Jeff, Colleen, Rango, Max, and Jupiter, are 1-0 in the league! While, the Hounds, lead by Star, Blitz, Shag, Lizzie, and Mercury fall to 0-1. What a start to the RR basketball league!" "1-0 baby!" Jeff says. "Nice going Star," Blitz says sarcastically, "You blew the game." "What? I blew the game?' Star asks, "Well, you were the one who kept shooting bad shots. I didn't shoot because I thought I couldn't make it." "But you were wide open!" Blitz replies. "So?" Star asks. Blitz then hits his head. "Hey guys!" Rango says. "Hello," Star says, obviously angry. "Well, just wanted to tell you that there's a special meeting tonight to discuss our holiday plans," Rango explains. "I was wondering why we didn't have a Christmas tree on the 20th of December!" Star says. "Yeah, that is strange," Blitz says. We then jump to the RR meeting room, where the Rovers aren't. Then, we see the Master, who on the stage in the meeting room says this into a microphone: "Allright Rovers, please enter the meeting room and quiet, orderly...." His words are interupted by the scuffle of Rovers trying to get to the best seats. The first in there are the Space Rovers, who get the best seats in the house on the big, comfy sofa. Then, in come Cody, Max, and Wyboo, who get three lounge chairs. And then, soon, all the Rovers have piled into the room, and they all are in seats. Jeff and Colleen are purposely in the nose bleed seats (well, I guess you could call them that, but it's not a stadium or anything), while the Junior Rovers and Space Rovers are near the front, since they aren't too used to being around the RRHQ. "Hello Rovers!" the Master says. "Howdy Master!" a 19-voice chorus (here's a rundown: Jeff, Colleen, Blitz, Shag (count him, he can sorta talk), Star, Exile, (not Hunter, he's resting), Buddy, Spirit, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Maxine, Max, Lizzie, Wyboo, Cody, and Lucy! If you count Muzzle's barking, make it 20) says, with a few variations. They then see that the Master is dressed in a tuxedo and a tie. "Well hello, Mr. Penguin!" Jeff says comically. The other 17, or 18, then laugh. "I knew you'd get a good laugh out of my outfit," the Master says, "Well, for Christmas, I have decided to do something special for you. For the next 5 days, we will be living far up north in a cabin, so we can truly have a white christmas!" Cheers immediatley rise up from the Rovers, ranging from, "Totally coolio! This is going to rock!" to "Wow! This is da bomb!" The Master then explains, "We must leave tonight in order to set up for Christmas in time. Once we get there, we can set up jobs. Please pack quickly!" The Rovers then take off to their rooms, and we thenjump to 1 hour later, where the Rovers are loading all their items into 3 planes, one for the Junior Rovers, one for the Space Rovers, and 1 for most of the Rovers, though some are in the other planes. "Is everyone here?" the Master asks the plane drivers via walkie-talkie. "We've got myself, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and 2 Rovers, Star and Blitz," Mars says from the Space Rover plane. "We've got myself, Rango, Jeff, Shag, Muzzle, Spirit, Buddy, and you as soon as you come," Exile says from the Rover plane. "Colleen?" the Master asks. But, Colleen didn't have the walkie-talkie end. "No, it's me," Wyboo says, "Colleen asked me to tell you that all of us, Max, Maxine, Lucy, myself, Cody, and she are all here." But, they all aren't. While Colleen is trying to break up a fake fight between Cody and Lucy, we see Lizzie and Wyboo cheering them on, but no Max. "Ok, if you say so," the Master says. Colleen then walks back to the front, and asks Wyboo, "Did you ever find Max?" "Yes, he's in the bathroom," Wyboo says. And, actually, she's not lying. "Let me out!" Max shouts from inside his bathroom................at the RRHQ. He then tries knocking the door down, but he falls down in the process. "Ow!" he says, grabbing his arm. "Very well," Colleen replies, "We're off." The planes then take off into the sky. We then see a dramatic change in climate after we do that nifty "R O A D R O V E R S" thingy, since in New Mexico it was fairly warm and desert like, but now it is very snowy and cold. We then see three planes battling through the snow, until they both finally land right outside a large cabin. "Now that was turbulence!" Exile says. "Ok, Rovers out first!" the Master says into the walkie-talike. "Come comerades," Exile says, "We get to go in first." "Coolness!!" Jeff says. The Master then hands Exile the keys, and he quickly unlocks the cabin door, and enters. As they go in, they see a long hallway that eventually leads to a beautiful living room, highlighted by a beautiful fireplace taht already has a fire glowing. They also see a bear rug, and many chairs circiling the fireplace. "This place is absolutely, definetly cool!" Buddy says. "You took the words right out of my mouth!" Spirit says. After all the Rovers have entered and searched around the cabin, they finally get to sleep. We then go outside the cabin, and watch as night quickly turns back into day, and see "Sunday: December 21, 1997: 8:30 AM" at the bottom. The Rovers, most of them dreary-eyed, are know in a meeting. "Now, to set up our jobs!" the Master says, "Who here would like to find at cut our tree? I will accept nominations." "I nominate Mars," Jeff says, "He's strong, and he's got good taste." "I second the nomination," Rango says. "Then, Mars, you are one of the tree seekers. I need one more to be nominated." "I nominate Blitz," Star says. "I second the nomination," Spirit says. "Blitz? No taste dog?" Colleen says. "Ok Colleen, just make fun of me and call me names, because if you do you won't get any presents from Santa," Blitz says. "I think you're the one who should worry about that," Colleen says. Blitz then sticks his tounge out at her. "Ok, now we need decerators," the Master says, "Just raise your hand if you would like to." We then see 11 hands go up, leaving only Jeff, Exile, Buddy, Mercury, Wyboo, and Shag without jobs. "You 6 can do any odd job," the Master says, "But don't sit around and watch football all day. Agreed?" "Agreed," Jeff replies, crossing his hand behind his back. We then jump to 2:00 in the afternoon, and we go outside to join Blitz and Mars. "This tree is awesome!" Mars says. "No, this one is way better!" Blitz says. "Come on Blitz, can't we just agree?" Mars asks. "It's hard," Blitz says, as the two continue to search for a tree. We then head inside, and see Star humming Christmas carols with some of the other girls who are putting holly on the railings. So, Star sings, "Deck the railings with boughs of holly, Fa la la la la, la la la la la. All the Rovers are here and jolly, fa la la la la, la la la la. We all wear tons of apparel, fa la la, fa la la, la la la! This we wear, to keep us warm, fa la la la la la, la la la la!!!" The others then clap for Star, who takes a bow. Meanwhile, in a secret room, Jeff, Exile, Buddy, Mercury, Wyboo, and Shag are, watching football, on the big screen TV Shag brought (he's the muscle dog, so he can carry something like that). "5, 4, 3, 2, 1, touchdown!!" Buddy says, "Yeah, yeah, go Oilers! Beat the Steelers!" Buddy sing-says. "Why do you want Tennessee to win?" Wyboo asks, using a southen accent when she says Tennessee. "Because the Steelers are good, and I like the, underdog!" "Oh, I get it," Wyboo says. "Yeah," Buddy replies. The day went on pretty much like this, until the 6 who were watching the games were caught around 5:30, and were forced to go out and help round out Mars and Blitz, who had been gone all day. They had found a tree that they were both satisfied with, but the tree was so far away from the cabin that it was taking them forever to bring it in. The 6 Rovers offered extra help, and they got the tree inside just as the sun set. Luckily, the snow had not fallen during the day, but it was starting back that night. And, no snow had melted, since the temperature never got above 20, and it always felt like 90 below or something (just kidding. 40 degree weather freezes us people from the southeast). For dinner, the Rovers made the 6 who were bad go and treat everyone to what they wanted for fast food. This included Taco Bell, Burger King, McDonald's, Dairy Queen, and more. The total price was split evenly, but it seemed that Jeff lost for money than anyone. Maybe because it was his idea to begin with. Then, when the 6 Rovers returned, they all ate dinner, and afterwards they all felt the same way. "Let's have a dance!" Star says, "The mood is perfect!" "That's a super duper idea!" Spirit agrees, as the Rovers talk around the dinner table about it. "I also agree that the mood is very good for a dance, comerades," Exile says, "The snow. The fire. Christmas. It all fits, perfectly." "All in favor, say I," Star says. Everyone then hunamiously replis with an "I," and the Rovers quickly finish their dinners to begin the dance. We then join up with the Rovers as they are getting reay for the dance. "Well, you're getting all dressed up, eh mate?" Rango asks Jeff, who is wearing a tuxedo, like the Master was. "Just want to look the best I can for my lady," Jeff replies. "Well, I don't have a lady," Rango replies, "So I'll just wear some nice clothes." He then puts on a plaid t-shirt and shorts. "Look good?" Rango asks. Jeff then looks at him strangely, and then says, "Rango, it's below 20 degrees out there! What are you doing in short sleeves and shorts?" "Well, that's because our Christmas is celebrated in summer, since we are backwards down under," Rango explains, "And I forgot about the change." "Poor fella," Jeff says, "Guess your stuck with that." "I guess," Rango says. The two then take deep breaths, and venture down the stairs onto the dance floor. There they see some of the girls, namely Lucy, Colleen, Star, and Spirit, all dressed up in pretty dresses. "They look awfully cute there mate," Rango says. "Colleen especially," Jeff says. Then, slow music starts playing, and Jeff walks up to Colleen. "May I have this dance?" he asks. "Of course," Colleen replies, as the two start dancing. The only other couple that is courageous enough to go ahead and dance though is Star and Blitz, and the two immmediatley begin dancing. But the other Rovers just mostly take quick glances at each other and then pretend like they weren't looking at them. But then, once the music got a little more fast paced, more of the Rovers decided to come up and dance. There was Buddy-Spirit, Rango-Lucy, Mars-Venus, and Lizzie-Shag. And then, by the time the electricslide was playing, all of the Rovers were out on the dance floor with their partners. The dance was a lot of fun, and everyone was having a great time, but there was something amiss. "Hey Master," Jeff says, "How about some Christmas music? You know, to get us in the Holdiay spirit." "I was just about to," the Master replies. Then, in a microphone, he says, "Allright, all you love bugs!" The Rovers then all roll their eyes. "It's time to start our Christmas dancing! And look out for that mistletoe." After he says that, "Deck The Halls," by Manheim Steamroller begins playing, and the Rovers start dancing. As they dance around, they are searching for the mistletoe. After about 30 seconds, Blitz asks, "Where exactly is that mistletoe?" Star then points above his head, right to the mistletoe. "You know what that means, don't you?" Star asks. Blitz then blushes, nods his head, and the two kiss. Soon after, other couples such as Jeff-Colleen, Lizzie-Shag, and Buddy-Spirit find themselves in that somewhat fun, somewhat embarrasing situation. Then, as the music finally ends, the Rovers all clap and cheer. "That's it for tonight's dance!!" The Master says, "Now, for present want exchange." All the Rovers then head into the room with all the sofas and the fireplace, and they all sit down, with the Road Rovers and Space Rovers in the chairs and the Junior Rovers on the floor. The Master then enters, and says a speech like this, "Now Rovers, we know that presents are really about giving. So, to begin with this tradition, we know will exchange what we want for Christmas. We'll start with the Junior Rovers. Cody?" "I want a new regulation size basketball, an NBA video, a Detroit Pistons cap, a Chumbawumba CD, and a whole lot more!" "That's a good start," the Master says, "Be sure to write down everything you want and post it to your door so that everyone can buy something for you. I will collect everyone's list tomorrow morning, and then you can initial what you are going to buy each other." Then, the wants went on, many asking for the Chumbuwumba CD, and some asking for special personal wants. "...And I would like a laptop computer and a Nintendo 64," Spirit says. Jeff, Rango, and Buddy then clap at those two gifts, since they sound cool. "And now, finally, Star," the Master says. Star then takes a dep breath, and says, "I'm not sure exactly what I want," she says, "Because I have everything I want right here." The Rovers then smile at Star for that. "But there is one thing I want," Star replies, "When I was just a little pup, I had a brother named Xander. Sure, I mean, he was mean at first, but once he began to care for me, I loved him. And, this is how it happened..." We then jump into a flashback sequence, and we see Xander and Star, much younger, walking side by side. "Thanks for finding me Xander," Star says, "I didn't know if I'd ever come back after I was stolen." "Well, it was you who got away from the kidnappers," Xander says, "I only found you." "Well, you fought the kidnappers," Star replies, "And lost your liscense in the process!" "It got ripped off," Xander replies, "The only bad thing would be if..." His statement is interupted by a net that flies over him, and then a dogcatcher emerges behind that net. "Run Star!!!" Xander shouts, as another dogcatcher chases after her. But, Star quickly runs around a corner and hides in a large patch of grass, as the dogcatcher runs past her and says, "Oh well, we'll catch her soon enough." We then come out of the flashback sequence. "And I never saw my brother again," Star says. Many of the Rovers are currently showing tears. Lucy then sobs, "Well, where did you go?" "Well, I became a strretwise dog, kinda like Colleen," Star explains, "I never really had an owner, but sometimes a nice famiy called the Hendersons would invite me in, and also I had the local Itailian restaraunt owner DiGierdo. And so, after all those rough years, I'm probaly the most luckly to be in the position that I am." "Thank you Star," the Master says, wiping off a tear. Star then exits the room, crying. "Man, and I thought mee life was rough," Colleen replies, "But her's must take the cake." "I feel so sad for Star," Blitz says. Then, he thinks for a second, and then gets up, and walks to a door. "Blitz, where are you going?" Saturn asks. "I am going to find Xander," Blitz replies, "If Star wants it that bad, I will deliver, no matter what!" The Rovers then wish Blitz good luck, and then go to sleep, though most had a hard time after what Star said. We then go outside, and once again we see night change to day, and then at the bottom, we see "Monday: December 22, 9:00 AM." We then see Spirit just getting up, and walking down to breakfast. She is joined by Star on her way down. "Hey Star," Spirit says, "Feeling better?" "I guess," Star replies, "Let's go pick up Blitz." "That's not such a good idea," Spirit replies. "Why?" Star asks. "Well...um...he had to get an early start with Christmas shopping. He told us last night when you went upstairs," she explains. "Oh, ok, then Jeff then," Star replies. The two then turn around and go to Jeff's room. They then enter, pull up the blinds, and says, "Oh Jeffy, it's time to get up!" Jeff then rolls over grogilly. "He's a deep sleeper," Star replies, "But this will wake him up." She then asks Spirit for her silly string gun, and sprays it at Jeff. Yet he still does not wake up. "One more thing," Star says. She then picks up a pillowthat rolled off Jeff's bed, and then whacks him with it. "Who is it?" Jeff asks, half-asleep. "Colleen," Spirit replies, immitating Colleen's voice perfectly. "What do you want, Spirit?" Jeff asks. "How did you know?" Spirit asks. Jeff then opens his eyes wide open. "Gotcha!" he says, "I wasn't sleeping." "Man!!" Star says, as the three get into a pillow fight. With feathers flying everywhere, we then see the RRHQ, where we hear a up beat tune of "Jingle Bells," playing. Then, as we enter, we see the headquarters decorated with Christmas stuff and Max dancing around happily to the music. As the song comes to a close, he sings with it, "In a one-horse, open, sleigh!!!" But right as he ends, the door front of him bursts open! "Aaaaaaahhh!!!!!!!!!!" Max shouts in terror as he runs to the room he was staying in, Blitz's, and grabs ahold to his blanky. Then, we see that the thing that busted the door open was Blitz. "I must get to a computer," he says. He then runs into his room, and sees that it is a disaster area. He then looks in shock, and then says, "I told Max not to leave the window open!!" Then, as he runs to the computer, he is quickly pulled down by something, and he is then wacked in the head with a paper-mache candy cane. This barely hurts him though. He then gets up, and pushes down the someone who hurt him. He then sees that it is Max. "Max?" Blitz asks. "Yeah," Max says, grabbing his even sorer ankle, "Wyboo locked me in the bathroom, that's why I had to stay here. And thayt's why your room's a mess." "No hard feelings," Blitz replies. He then looks for the computer. "Where is my computer?" Blitz asks, picking up Blitz. "Oh, I was giving it a 15 Mega-byte upgrade," Max says, nervously. "What about the other computers?" Blitz asks. "Same," Max replies. Blitz then puts him down. "Now I can't talk with the other Rovers about the location of extra locaters," Blitz says. "Well, why do you need a locator?" Max asks. He then gasps. "Did someone get lost?" "Yes," Blitz replies. "Who?" Max asks, "Colleen, Jeff, Rango, Star, Co...." "No," Blitz interrupts, "This was a long time ago. This thing was not a Road Rover." "Oh, ok," Max says. "Well, you can help me then," Blitz says, "I'm going to need all the help I can get." "What are you looking for?" Max asks. "Star's brother, in Orlando," Blitz replies. "Star has a brother?" Max asks. "Yes, but it's a long story," Blitz replies, "I'll tell you on the way." The two then rush to the new Ultra Rover (an updated Power Rover, that is orange and has computers that are up-to-date), and hop in. Blitz then sees the computers. "Computers!!!" he shouts. He then quickly gets online under his name, and sees that he has mail. He then clicks on the icon, and reas the first message.

  • It reads...
  • "You have been sent a virus. This virus has eliminated everything on your hard drive. Ha Ha Ha! Merry Christmas!"
  • "No!!" Blitz shouts, as the computer shuts off, "We are on are own, again!" Meanwhile, Max has snuck up into the driver's seat, and at that instant, he begins flying the plane. "Woah!" Max says, as the plane goes into a long incline, and Blitz flies to the back. Then, the plane rockets through the roof of the RRHQ, and flies right through one of the holes taht seperates the RRHQ from the ground. The plane then swerves off into the distance. Then, we go back to the log cabin, where all of the Rovers are seeing what everyone else wanted for Christmas, and signing what they will buy for each other. The last few, mostly Space Rovers, are passing through at the end. We then see Star's list, and we see regular stuff, suprisingly. And, on this list, there is a 21st item, that Blitz wrote in, entitled "My Brother," and then his intials (BWD) beside it. "He's so nice," Venus says. Exile then laughs (he's last in line). "What's so funny?" Venus asks. "Blitz nice?" Exile asks, "That's like calling It's A Small World the most exilirating ride at Disneyland." "See, there you Road Rovers go again," Mercury replies. "What do you mean?" Exile asks. "Acting like you're so cool," Mercury says, "Talking about all these privaleges, all these out of the world expierences, look at us, we're out of this world, literally!" Exile then rolls his eyes. "Why do you have to make us feel so bad?" Mercury asks. "Calm down, out of this world boy!" Exile says. "Ha ha, you know that's right," Mercury says. Exile then leaves the line, shaking his head at the strange dog.
