You're Reading Story #25, Orange Cola!!

:Roll theme song:

But, before we kick off this story, I would like to give you a little bit of information on the series "To the Power of the Pack..." that will be featured at this website this summer. My want for this series is for it to be a series not only featuring comedy and adventure, but a series of 3 episodes that you can really get something out of. Something that you can take from and use in your everyday life. So, here are 5 featured topics in the series. This won't tell you what happens at all, but will give you a little background before the story begins.

THE ROVERS NORTH
The Road Rovers have been lost up north for quite some time now. And from stories #7 and 8, we know that they are indeed living. So, how will the Rovers rescue them, or how will they rescue themselves?

GLENN
As we have learned, Glenn's plan is to foil the reign of Jeff and Colleen and take over himself. Not a very brotherly thing to do, eh? So, the main question, will he gain the reign, or, since the Rovers did see him take Rango from them in story 6, can the Rovers set up some kind of trail to deny him the reign?

JEFF AND COLLEEN ARE ROYAL (FOR NOW AT LEAST), WHAT'S NEXT?
As you know, Jeff and Colleen haven't really ruled per say this season. They have had some royal dealings, but they haven't exactly ruled dog kingdom. Don't worry, this topic will be covered next year when they aren't the main story. But what becomes of them in this series?

STAR AND BLITZ: NEXT SEASON'S STARS:
As I've stated before, Blitz and Star will be the main story next season. But aren't they proposed? What happens with that? They also are among the dogs up north, a major part of the first part of the series. Next season's stars they will be.

GENERAL PARVO
General Parvo is in the perfect situation here it seems. He already has accomplished taking over the reign for a year, now a lost year, and nobody expects him to take a jump at the reign with all the dealings with Glenn. He is in the perfect situation. Will he, and the Groomer, take advantage of it?

That is the final preview you will receive for "To The Power Of The Pack..." before the 3-pack. The next episode will be much like the Christmas special, except it centers around a "Family Reunion." The final episode, "Another Day in the Life" will end my 2nd season. As always, I thank you for your support of my stories and I hope you enjoy my 25th story, Orange Cola!!

ORANGE COLA

As the story begins, we see Road Rover Headquarters lighted up, though it is late at night. We then head over headquarters to the "backyard" of it, and see balloons, banners, and carnival rides set up, with Rovers in the area. But it isn't just Road Rovers, it's Road Rovers, Junior Rovers, Space Rovers, and Ocean Rovers. We then read the banner right in front of some picnic tables that reads
"ROVER GATHERING WEEK:
MAKING NEW FRIENDS,
TELLING OUR STORIES!"
We then see the four leaders, Hunter, Cody, Saturn, and the Ocean/Sea Rover leader, who we will call Pac, all sitting at a table, talking. "Looks like everything's going well," Saturn says, seeing some of the Junior Rovers enjoying themselves on a ferris wheel and some of the Sea Rovers enjoying themselves on RoverLand's log flume. "I'm glad you two invited all of us," Pac says to Hunter and Cody. "It's no biggie," Cody replies, "Hunter and I had a discussion about this, and since their Master is gone, we decided that this would be a good way for us to unite more as a Rover team. I mean, talking on IRN can be only too much fun." "Exactly," Saturn replies. She then thinks for a second, and asks, "Am I boring on IRN?" "Yeah," Cody replies, "Your screen name should be BenStein!" "You're just too nice to me Cody," Saturn says, smuggly. "I'm just too nice!!" Cody says, grinning sarcasticaly. As Cody and Saturn begin a argument full of sarcastic comments, Hunter and Pac begin talking. "So Pac," Hunter says, "What do you do under the waters?" "Help out endangered sea animals, protect the coast lines of countries from enemy liners, stuff like that," Pac says. "Cool," Hunter replies, "We just chase Parvo around and take care of on-ground business. Then we have protection from you guys below, the Sea Rovers above us, and the Junior Rovers from our left and right." "Pretty cool," Pac replies. We then go inside, and see Buddy and Mercury, two video game buffs, battling on Buddy's computer playing Triple Play 99. Buddy's team, the Rockies, is playing Mercury's team, the Cardinals. We then see Buddy celebrating as a Rockie crosses home, and the announcer says "There's a run scored." "Tie game!!!" Buddy says, smirking. "Watch this," Mercury says. Mercury then has his guy pitch the ball and Buddy hits it, but he hits it right to the second baseman. He throws to the shortstop covering second who then throws to the first baseman. Double play! "I survived!" Mercury says. "Awesome play," Buddy replies. "Yeah, I guess I have a!
knack for it," Mercury says. We then go into the TV room, and see the Junior Rovers, minus Cody, watching the Heat versus the Knicks in the NBA Playoffs. Maxine, a Heat fan, is celebrating as her Heat are "smoking" the Knicks. As Alonzo Mourning dunks, she hops around the room, raising the roof, with her Heat jacket on, "Go Heat!! Go Heat!! Go, Go, Go Heat!!" Lucy, a Knicks fan, tackles her, and starts hitting her with her #1 plastic finger that says Knicks on it. Hunter and Pac, meanwhile, are walking by, and seeing the two, Pac says, "Well, this may be bringing Rovers of different packs together, but it is bringing the Rovers of the same pack apart!" "Naw, they just have a lot of energy. You know kids," Hunter replies, smiling as Maxine gets up and starts cheering again. Hunter continues, "They're all fun to be around. They just get hyper a lot. Too many trips to the soda machines at JRHQ. They actually had a night where they paid $200 for soda cans in the machine, and drank them all! The next day they had a soda hangover! Except for Lizzie, who has a bladder the size of a baseball! She only had to make one trip to the fire hydrant! And..." "Ok, I've heard enough..." Pac says, shying away from Hunter. Lizzie then walks by Hunter and Pac. "What's up Liz?" Hunter asks, smiling. "I'm off to dinner," she says, trying to make herself look skinny, but failing. "But Lizzie, that's your 6th dinner tonight," Maxine says laughing. Wyboo then picks up her inflated Dodgers' toy bat and starts whacking Maxine with it. "Don't you bad talk my friend!" Wyboo says, as Lizzie smiles and heads to dinner, even if it is her 6th. While all this is happening, Max and Lucy beginning chasing their tails and scratching up the furniture. "Memo to me," Pac says, "Don't jump into parenthood." "Hey, do I have any kids?" Hunter asks. "I can see why," Pac replies. The Rovers then suddenly stop doing everything, and gaze at the TV dreamily. "Cool!" Lucy says. "Allright!" Wyboo adds. "Super!" Maxine says. "Hunky-dory!" Max says. Pac and!
Hunter then walk in, and both like what they are seeing. We then see a soda can spinning in circles, with the letters "Lart" on it. The announcer then comes on, and says,
"Want a break from your ordinary low caffeine soda? Want something that will make you fun-loving and happy?" "More like hyper," Hunter replies. The announcer continues, "Then try Lart, the new cola from Shamikana Products! Just look what it did for this kid." We then see a kid sitting alone at a lunch table outside a school, very lonely. "Before I drank Lart, I had no friends," the kid says, "But then, one day, my mother bought me some Lart. I took a can to school the next day, and all of a sudden I am the most popular guy in school!!" The announcer then starts again, "And don't forget, Lart Orange doubles your popularity! So try Lart, availible at all HungryGuy Grocery Stores in the Socorro Area." Hunter and Pac then begin laughing. "How pathetic is that?" Hunter asks, "It's almost like a 14-year old wrote it or something!" "But didn't the drink look so tasty?" Max asks. "Oh yes," Pac says, sarcastically, "99% Caffeine, 1% Artifical Orange Flavoring!" Their laughing is then interrupted by a annoying and horrible noise coming out of the TV. Sure enough, it's the Amigo car commercial. "Hit the deck!!" Lucy says, as all the Rovers try to find hiding places and pillows to hide from the commercial of all things. As it ends, the Rovers are right back to normal. This is true, since Max is whining. "Please, please, please, can we get some Lart Orange?" he whines. "He needs it," Wyboo replies, referring to the kid's popularity change in the commercial. Max, unabashed, continues his whining. "Please, please, please?" he asks, putting doggy eyes on the two. "Ok, ok," Pac says, giving in, "You don't have to make a performance out of it. This isn't Broadway...at least the last time I checked." Max, happy, pumps his "so-called" fist, and runs to the vehicle lot so he can ride shotgun. The Junior Rovers, minus Cody, then hurry into the plane, while Pac and Hunter follow reluctantly behind. Pac, spotting Max in shotgun, approaches him, as Hunter hops in the driver's seat. "Max," Pac says, agitated. "Yes?" Max asks. "If y!
ou don't get in the back seat right now, YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANY LART COLA!!" Max, whimpering, crawls into the back, all for the Lart that he needs "so" much. Hunter then turns the key, and the Rovers speed off in the Land Rover. A few minutes later, we see Hunter driving the vehicle, with Pac reading a magazine and the Junior Rovers all entertained in different things. Hunter then sees a convertible ahead, and as "Holiday Road" from Vegas Vacation starts playing, Hunter pulls up next to the convertible and spots a beautiful cano-sapien driving the convertible. Hunter, not sure of how she was transdogmafied, takes a glance at her, and doesn't care anymore. Hunter, overcome by her beauty, takes a peek around to see if any other Rovers are looking. But still, all of them are occupied in different things. So, Hunter mouths the words "Will you go out with me?" to the beautiful canine. The girl cano-sapien then runs her fingers through her hair to show off for Hunter, before mouthing "Yeah," to Hunter. Hunter, happy, mouths "Thank you" back, relieved. But then, as the convertible speeds up a bit, he sees something in the back seat. As he looks closer, he sees, ANOTHER DOG!! Hunter, shocked, mouths "Who's he?" The girl cano-sapien replies with a simple shrug, and then pulls ahead of Hunter. On the liscene plate, he reads the word "MARRIED." Hunter, embarrassed, try to take his attention off the dog, as he drives on to the local HungryGuy. We then see the LandRover parked in the HungryGuy parking lot, right below the HungryGuy sign, which features a large man with a bib on chomping on a sub, with HungryGuy above him. Hunter and Pac, meanwhile, are rounding up the little rascals. "Now Junior Rovers," Pac says, adressing them, "As you know, the first thing people do when they see you is judge you. So, let's be on our best behavior, so that we don't get off on the wrong foot with some people we may have to help out some day, okay?" The Junior Rovers then yawn and pretend sleep. "Looks like you got to them," Hunter sa!
ys. "Don't hire me to make any motovational speeches," Pac says, as Lizzie falls to the ground, pretending to sleep, right next to him. Then, suddenly, the Junior Rovers all hop up at once, and run into HungryGuy. Hunter, due to his super speed, jumps in front of the 5 before they get past the check-out counters, but avoid him as they begin to run wild through the store. The Junior Rovers then fool Hunter and Pac, by going down differnet aisles. Hunter then follows Lizzie down the aisle she went down, but can't spot her when he reaches the aisle. Suddenly, from out of nowhere, Hunter spots Lizzie with a grocery cart with Wyboo inside behind him. The two are prepared for resistance with, the deadliest weapon of them all, open cans of Spam! But, Lizzie fails to stop as she gets closer and closer to Hunter, and the two begin to chuck the Spam at Hunter. Hunter then starts running as fast as he can from the cart and the Spam (which is pretty darn fast!) but suddenly, he slips. He then sees Max with a few empty water bottles in hand, jeering at Hunter. Suddenly, Pac is seen running away from something, and Hunter finds out what it is when he sees Maxine and Lucy chasing him in those nifty carts at grocery stores. And, to make things harder on Pac, they are hurling ripe tomatoes at his back!! However, the two spin out on the water that Max spilled on the floor, and go crashing into cereals. Max also finds himself covered by cereals, since he dove from the spinned out cars into the area where the pile fomed. Lizzie and Wyboo also fall into it, after falling on it after they sped towards Hunter. Covered with cereals, a large crowd gathers to see what the Rovers have done. Then, the manager, who looks a lot like the HungryGuy on the sign, approaches the mess, just as Lizzie pops out of the pile with cereal in hand. "Yummy," she says. The Junior Rovers then all pop out of the pile, smiling nervously at the manager. "Who is responsible for this?" the manager asks. Everyone then stares at the older Rovers, since they !
are the adults of the group. Hunter, smiling, says, "We're sorry sir. It won't happen again." All 7 of them then put puppy eyes on the manager, and all the manager can say is "Alright. I'll let you go. But, there is a simple thing I want you to do first." We then see the Junior Rovers, driving in a car, passing by many grocery stores. "All these boring stores," Lizzie says. "No fun," Max adds. Then, the Rovers pull up on a HungryGuy. "HungryGuy!" they say, happily. We then see that it is coming from a TV, and we then see Hunter shaking hands with the manager. "Thanks for the commercial," the manager says, "And remember, guest appearence, every Wednesday night at this HungryGuy!" The Rovers then finally get their Lart, and exit the store. Then, as the Rovers get back into their seats, Hunter locks the doors and stares at each and every Junior Rover, angrily. This causes them to slump into their seats, knowing that Hunter is raging mad, something he usually isn't. Lucy finally speaks up, "Sorry Hunter. But we were just trying to have some fun." "No," Hunter replies, "Fun is chasing the mailman. Fun is going to a theme park. Fun is, well, fun. And destructing a grocery store on a little misadventure isn't my idea of fun. In fact, it's NOBODY'S!!" "But that wasn't our purpose!" Lizzie protests, "We just wanted to have some fun with you guys for once. We never get to!" "What do you mean?" Hunter asks. "Ever since you guys dumped us," Wyboo says, "You haven't had the time to hang out with us. It was pawesome when you guys stayed with us at Road Rover Headquarters. It was the best time of our lives!! And we just feel like you guys are ditching us by never doing anything with us except a few missions." "I never saw it like that," Hunter says. "Just remember your childhood," Maxine says. We then flashback to Hunter's home in Montana, and see his mother chasing after him. Inside his mouth is a fresh pair of boxers. Young Hunter then sets the boxers down on the ground, and snifs them. Lemony fresh. He then begins to !
tear at them, ripping them apart. His mother then growls at him, and Hunter drops the boxers and runs off sad. We then enter the present, and Hunter says, "Destructing stuff is fun, isn't it?" he asks. "Sure is!" Wyboo says. Hunter then hops into the back seat, and starts scratching up the seat cushions. "That's the way Hunter," Lizzie says. Hunter then stops, and thinks for a second. He then says, "Maybe destructing things isn't such a good idea. But I can see why you do things like that. To get attention, to get us to have fun with you instead of ignore you." "Exactly!" Max exclaims. "Then...for the next two days, I'll do anything you want me to do with you guys. Let's get to be friends again!" "Thank you Hunter!!" Wyboo says, as the Junior Rovers hug Hunter for his deed. "And you Pac?" Hunter asks, after they all have hugged him. "I...think I'll pass," Pac says. "Come on Pac," Max says, "We barely know you." "I think I like it that way," Pac replies, "I think getting to know you guys would have the same result as insulting a easily mad elephant." "What's the difference between insulting an easily mad elephant and Lizzie?" Maxine asks, teasingly. Lizzie, angered, squeezes Maxine against the side of the car with her belly. As Lizzie continues to squish Maxine, Maxine says "Must...get...air." Hearing her pain, Lucy tries to pull Lizzie aqay, but Wyboo starts whacking Lucy with her inflatable Dodgers bat. A large argument breaks out, between Maxine-Lucy and Wyboo-Lizzie, while Max keeps picking little fights on both sides, helping out neither's point. He also avoids a physical fight, by changing his mind right as a fist is put in front of his face. Sounds like Max, huh? As all this is going on, Pac turns to Hunter and says, "Good luck. You're going to need it." Hunter, laughing, says, "Two days straight with these rascals. BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID." Hunter then starts up the car, and sees Max and Lucy reaching for some Larts. "Hold on guys," Hunter says, halting them before they can get anything to drink, !
"There are no good fire hydrants between here and home." "But Hunter," Lucy whines. "No buts about it young lady," Hunter replies, "Besides, it's just some cheezy soda made by some cheezy no name company." Max, searching for the company name, attempts to prove Hunter wrong, "No! It's made by Schilonsisky Products." "EXactly," Hunter replies, "You can wait." But, after opening the drinks a little, Lucy takes a little sip, and becomes instantly hooked. Giving a nod to Max, the two quickly and quietly guzzle down the soda. Then, after slurping it all down, the two howl loud as they can, and Hunter turns around to see the Lart colas in their hands. He then grabs them away, and reprimands the two when they finish howling. "You guys won't listen to anything I say!" Hunter says, frustrated. "You guys won't listen to anything I say," Maxine mimmicks. "Agh!" Hunter pouts. "Agh!" Maxine mimmicks. "Maxine, cut it out," Hunter says. "Maxine, cut it out," Maxine mimmicks. "Stop it," Hunter beckons. "Stop it," Maxine mimmicks again. "Grrrrrrr," Hunter growls. "Grrrrr," Maxine growls. Hunter then opens up a glove compartment, and pulls out left over stickers he had from Christmas. He then places one on Maxine's lip, and her words come out as mumbles. On the tape, it says "Do not open until Christmas." A loud cheer comes from the car, as the "Aleluia" chorus plays, and Maxine protests to no avail, since nobody comprehends her. After listening to her for a minute, Lucy says, "Hey, it's Kenny!" (referring to the character from South Park). Maxine is angered, but of course, her words still don't come out clearly, as the Rovers continue to laugh. Meanwhile, in the back seat, Lucy and Max are confused. "Did you control that howl?" Lucy asks. "No ma'am," Max replies, "It just kinda slipped out of my mouth." "I know," Lucy adds, "Same here. Isn't that weird?" "Sure is," Max says. "Definetly not like butter," Lucy replies.
