Born, to death, to revival, sort of.  But "Road Rovers" still does not live in its lively form it did during the '96-'97 season on Kids' WB.  It's nice to see the Rovers still saving lives on Cartoon Network, but it's the same stories.  Even if they don't get old, it's time for more, new, exciting stories.
So that brings up the question: can a show with the potential of "Road Rovers" return to the air waves with brand new episodes?  The answer is a definite yes.  One of the great showings by Road Rover fans is that despite all the things we've gone through, we refuse to give up hope.  We continue to believe, wholeheartedly, that our show will return with new episodes in the future.  The massive results of SORR and the growing and continuous "Rover Resuce" program, and hopefully my soon to be created "Save The Rovers" webring, show the heart and desire that Rovers fans have for their cartoon.  And why shouldn't they support it so?  It was a great show.
When awaiting a return, the best thing to have is patience.  "Road Rovers" could go off the air for a significant while, say a year or two.  This is no reason to freak out.  There are other ways to show your support for the show other than watching it.  Write the big TV companies telling them about how much you enjoyed the show.  Get the Warner Bros. Studio Store to keep cranking out the "Road Rovers" cels, and ask them to supply more RoRo merchandise.  Wear your Road Rover t-shirts!  Just don't blame me if you get bit!  ~C~  In your letters, if you can supply fan art, fan fics, etc., it'll put an even bigger impression on their minds.
At the ESPYs, soon before his death from cancer, former NC State Wolfpack coach Jim Valvano said, "Don't give up, don't ever give up."  Things can be overcome through hard work and perseverance.  We've done the hard work, now we just need to keep up our efforts over an extended period of time, and we will be rewarded.
The great thing about "Road Rovers" is it has created a pseudo-fraternity through the real and online world.  I, and many others, have met many friends through the show, friends I would have otherwise not met.   You think I would have met Star, Spirit, Blitz, Ricky, Alethia, Dawn, Cricket, Dervish, Dylan, and everybody I left out without the Rovers?  No way. When you talk to somebody, or see somebody on the streets that is a fan of "Road Rovers," you have a connection with them.  Not everybody got a chance to see the show.  Not everybody fell in love with it as much as we did.  We are a select crew, a "different breed."  Therefore, we should try and stick together as much as we can.  Every crew of people is going to have their spats.  But once they're over, move on!  There's no reason to hold a grudge, especially on the online community.  You'd rather make one friend than ten enemies, wouldn't you?  If we keep a large fan base over a long time, networks are going to be impressed.  See Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Sailor Moon.
Right now it's a 'tweener time for Rover fans.  As a famous oldie once sang, we're not sure if this is the beginning, or is it the end.  When will we see them again?
The effort has become more than just a hobby.  Through fighting to save the show, people have become even more in love with it.  "Road Rovers" transcends barriers to show a story of six dogs, fighting together regardless of background, without fighting, working together, playing off each others' talents, having a good time, and succeeding.  In our effort to save the show, we should remember the talents that made our Rovers such succesful heroes.
I don't know about you, but the day the Rovers get saved, I'm probably going to take off my shirt and run around the house screaming for about 5 minutes.  Ok, maybe not.  But I'll be excited nonetheless.  Due to our efforts in saving the show, we've exposed it to ten times the audience and created a deep love for the show in our hearts and in other hearts.  People now actually know what I'm talking about when I talk about "Road Rovers."  When I talk about it in newsgroups, people say how it was a good show, and how it was a shame that it got canceled.  We're not the only ones who think this show should return to the airwaves.  A little more progress forward, and...
Don't give up...don't ever give up.
