"Hit The Air"- September 7, 1996 (yet it seems like what, a year ago?)
WRITTEN BY: Tom Ruegger and Mark Seidenberg
HERO OF THE DAY: We'll give it to Hunter
BASIC PLOTLINE (From Kids WB at AOL):

"Let's Hit the Road" explains the origins of each of the Road Rovers, what their super powers are and sends the canines off on their first adventure.  It also explains what happened to The Master and why he's on an endless search to stop General Parvo's evil schemes.

Hunter, Exile, Blitz, Colleen and  Shag also gain homes at the end of the episode.  Each one ends up with the heads of state for different governments around the world.  And Muzzle?  Well, he stays with the Master to replace the lost Scout.

More Plotline: Parvo first strikes in Camden, ME...here he transforms two normal dogs into cano-mutants, which wreak havoc in the town...these two dogs capture a molecular stabilizer (gene splicing device) which they plan to take to Parvo...they are interrupted by the Rovers who first steal the stabilizer, then trade Blitz for what appears to be the machine, but it is actually a bomb...the Rovers almost leave the pack because they could perish, but they agree to a deal from the Master, but, at any cost, THEY CAN NOT SLEEP ON THE SOFA!

WHAT WE LEARNED FROM THIS EPISODE:
-Well, in short, we learned who Exile, Colleen, Blitz, Hunter, Muzzle, Shag, the Master, Parvo, and the Groomer were, and what the transdogmafier, cano-mutants, and Road Rovers are.  A lot?  You bet.
-We learn that the Rovers will live with the leaders of the various countries.  Lucky Hunter, he gets to live with Clinton at the White House Zoo.
-In a sort of way, the interrelationship between Parvo and the Master.  Of course, "Reigning Cats & Dogs" showed the whole relationship.

FUNNIEST LINE:
This by far was not the funniest episode...after all it was a pilot.  The part with the ignition key was pretty funny, but I'll go with the constant air bag jokes and the first "license" joke as the best.

KRANKOR'S FAN RATING: 8.7 out of 10 (4th out of 13)

MY TAKE: This was a good episode.  Best, nah.  Good, yeah.  It did a good job of telling us who the Rovers were, though I would have liked to see a couple more jokes just to get the season going a little more, but future episodes picked that up.
