"Hit The Air-" October 12, 1996
WRITTEN BY: Tom Ruegger and Brian Chin
HERO OF THE DAY: Wolves!
WEAPON OF CHOICE: Tanks and stealing the sceptor
BASIC PLOTLINE (From Kids' WB at AOL):
Peace between the countries of Katzenstsok and Eisneria is broken when the Sceptor of the Valley is stolen and the Katzenstsok ambassador blames its neighbor of the theft. The Rovers discover that the power-mad General Havoc is the one responsible for stealing the scepter in an effort to cause war, enabling him to eventually rule over both countries. Of course, the Rovers enter the fray and return the scepter to the two warring countries, instilling peace again and kicking Havoc out of power.
MORE PLOTLINE: The Road Rovers almost fail on their mission, but are bailed out by a pack of wolves who were nearby...the sceptor returns a bridge that had once symbolized the peace between the valleys.
WHAT WE LEARNED FROM THIS EPISODE:
-Eat your heart out Disney! The happiest place on Earth is Ovitznia, Katzenstock, and Eisneria.
-"Deep inside every dog, and every wolf, is a Road Rover."
-Colleen, who's just trying to stay topical, says The EPA is not going to like this and she hopes that the villains have their HMOs
-That Exile will never be a doctor, he'd faint during the operations (which was a hilarious little bit)
FUNNIEST LINE: (complete) "Blitz, you want a biscuit?" "Tanks." "Your welcome." "No tanks." "You sure? It's tasty. Try it." "Tanks." "Your welcome." "No, tanks!" "What's with you? You want it or not?" "Tanks!" "Your welcome!!" "No, tanks!" "Well make up your mind!" :Tanks crash down the wall: "Oh, tanks, ah now I get it, funny."
KRANKOR'S FAN RATING: 9.0 out of 10 (2nd out of 13)
MY TAKE: An excellent episode. There were many funny jokes. There was the "please consider therapy" bit between Exile and Biltz, the "may I faint now?" bit between Exile and Colleen, and the "tanks" bit between Blitz and Hunter. I also liked the idea about the peace between the countries and the wolves. Well done, Mr. Ruegger.
